Google HiLight: A Promising Evolution

When Google first introduced HiLight, it was clear that the device had significant potential. However, its initial launch left much to be desired, with limited functionality that seemed to overlook the full scope of what the hardware could achieve.

At present, HiLight serves primarily as a notification tool for incoming calls from favorite contacts or interactions with Google Gemini. While this is a useful feature, the device’s capabilities are far from being fully exploited.

Fortunately, recent developments suggest that Google is gearing up to enhance the functionality of HiLight, making it a more versatile and indispensable tool.

Recent findings in the Android 17 QPR2 Beta 5 code hint at exciting updates for HiLight, as discovered by Android Authority.

One of the anticipated improvements is the expansion of color options for HiLight. Currently limited to five colors, including Teal, Yellow, Pink, Purple, and White, the device is expected to introduce additional hues to its palette. This enhancement aligns with the hardware’s capabilities, which are capable of supporting more than the existing five colors.

With the upcoming update, users can look forward to the addition of Blue, Red, and two shades of Green to the HiLight color selection. This expansion promises a more vibrant and customizable user experience.
