Porsche CEO Denies Reports of Potential Job Cuts

Porsche CEO Michael Leiters has stood firm against rumors suggesting that the luxury German automaker may undergo another significant round of layoffs. In a recent communication to employees, Leiters reassured them that there are currently no plans for further job reductions.

The response from Leiters comes in light of a recent report indicating that Volkswagen’s supervisory board deemed approximately 4,100 positions at Porsche as redundant. This number would have been in addition to the roughly 9,000 job cuts that had already been agreed upon by the company.

Addressing the concerns, Leiters emphasized in an internal memo to staff that the current restructuring plan has received approval from Porsche’s supervisory board, and there are no anticipated changes in the near future.

Prior to this, Porsche had already committed to approximately 9,000 job cuts by 2035. These measures include an initial phase covering about 3,900 positions, an additional 500 roles tied to subsidiary closures, and approximately 5,000 more cuts through voluntary programs.
