Porsche 911 GT3 (992.2) with Manthey Kit Sets New Nürburgring Lap Record

A remarkable achievement was recently accomplished at the Nürburgring, as a Porsche 911 GT3 (992.2) equipped with the Manthey Kit secured a breathtaking lap time. Skilled race track driver Ayhancan Güven piloted the vehicle to a new record of 6:50.863 at the infamous Green Hell circuit.

In a significant collaboration with Manthey Racing, the latest enhancements to the GT3 model have elevated its performance to unprecedented levels. The Manthey package is not merely a minor upgrade; it has transformed the GT3 into a track-oriented machine, surpassing the previous 992.1 Manthey lap time by nearly 5 seconds and outperforming a standard GT3 by over 5 seconds.

The key to this remarkable achievement lies in the meticulous aero and chassis improvements made to the Porsche 911 GT3 (992.2). Redesigned front and rear wings have been optimized to maximize downforce, while a four-way adjustable coilover system with firmer springs has enhanced the car’s agility and responsiveness. Additionally, a revamped underbody with extended aero elements has significantly improved stability at high speeds. During the record-breaking run, the vehicle was equipped with high-performance Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires to ensure maximum grip.

Even in its basic configuration, the Manthey GT3 generates substantial downforce. However, in full attack mode, it can produce an astonishing 1,190 pounds of downforce, ensuring exceptional traction and stability akin to a professional race car. The powertrain remains unchanged, featuring the iconic naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine delivering 518 horsepower through a PDK gearbox.
