An extraordinary McLaren P1 HDK by Lanzante, one of only nine road-legal P1 HDKs ever produced, is set to go under the hammer at the prestigious Mecum Auctions in Monterey, CA. This event presents a unique chance for enthusiasts to acquire one of these high-performance hypercars for their collection.

The featured P1 HDK, identified as chassis no. 003, boasts a striking Cherry Bomb Red exterior with sleek Black stripes. The vehicle underwent a repaint by McLaren-certified Karosserie in Wayne, Pennsylvania, and has clocked 3,122 miles on the odometer.

Named after the iconic McLaren F1 HDK from the 1990s, the P1 HDK is essentially a road-legal version of the P1 GTR, customized by renowned UK-based specialists Lanzante.

Setting it apart from the standard P1, the P1 HDK features a large fixed wing from the track-focused P1 GTR, along with a prominent front splitter and fender louvres. The car is showcased with 9-spoke centrelock wheels, which can be interchanged with racing wheels.

The P1 HDK is powered by a modified 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, now enlarged to 4.0-liters, generating an impressive 1058 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels.

Lanzante has enhanced the suspension system to accommodate the increased downforce, with gold heat shields in the engine bay paying homage to the original McLaren F1.
