Transport Fever 3 Introduces Curated Mods Program and Closed Beta Testing

A new curated mods program has been unveiled for the highly anticipated Transport Fever 3, offering community modders the opportunity to collaborate with developer Urban Games to create unique mods. This initiative also provides early access to assist modders in familiarizing themselves with the game before its official launch.

In addition to the mods program, Urban Games has revealed plans for a closed beta testing program for the game on consoles. The goal of this beta testing scheme is to ensure a smooth and seamless cross-platform launch for Transport Fever 3.

With Transport Fever 3, Urban Games is setting higher ambitions compared to its predecessor, TF2. The upcoming game is set for a simultaneous release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with modding support available from day one. Modders will also have access to a new automated approval system, developed in collaboration with Sony and Microsoft, allowing for cross-platform mod sharing via the Mod Hub. This system will enable the creation and sharing of new vehicles, maps, script-mods, save games, and localizations.

Following collaboration with the community during the game’s development and testing phases, Urban Games is now opening up the Curated Mods Program for new applications. Access to this program will be limited initially, with preference given to modders with a proven track record in creating mods for TF2 or similar games. However, the developer plans to expand the program post-launch to offer creators more resources, visibility, and potential financial support.

Transport Fever 3 aims to expand on its predecessors by offering players over a century of transportation history within a sandbox of transport management and a single-player narrative campaign. Early previews of the game have showcased missions such as saving Mardi Gras after a weather disaster and optimizing the efficiency of Woodstock.

In a recent preview of the game, it was noted that the inclusion of narrative missions and tycoon gameplay in Transport Fever 3 will enhance its accessibility. The combination of sandbox play and structured objectives provides a more engaging experience for players, catering to both simulation enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
