Samsung Galaxy Fit 4: The Ultimate Fitbit Air Alternative

Samsung is reportedly in the process of developing a new Galaxy Fit fitness tracker.

Although the Galaxy Fit 3 was released over two years ago, it appears that the company is not abandoning its budget-friendly fitness trackers.

According to SamMobile, the Galaxy Fit 4 is currently in development and is expected to be launched before the end of 2026.

However, the device is not anticipated to be revealed alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Flip 8, and the new Z Flip Wide at Samsung’s rumored Unpacked event on July 22. Instead, the launch is likely to coincide with the unveiling of the Galaxy S26 FE and the Galaxy Tab S12 around September.

Samsung Galaxy Fit 4 probable specifications

There is currently no information available regarding the appearance or new features of the Samsung Galaxy Fit 4. Based on the series’ history, it is unlikely to feature any radical changes.

Given that the Galaxy Fit 3 was a simple device priced at £60 and operated on an RTOS-based system, it is expected that the Fit 4 will also aim for a similar simplicity at an affordable price point.

With the Fit 3 launching at £49/$59.99, its successor is likely to remain one of the most cost-effective fitness trackers on the market. Additionally, it is anticipated to undercut Google’s recently released screen-free Fitbit Air, which is priced at £84.99/$99.99.

Unlike the Fitbit Air, the Fit 4 is expected to feature an OLED display. Additionally, the Fit 3 already offers fall detection and emergency SOS capabilities, features that set it apart from the Fitbit Air.

Adding a GPS function, which was missing in the Fit 3, would be a logical enhancement for the Fit 4. This feature would allow for accurate tracking of runs without the need to carry a phone, a significant improvement for users. NFC for contactless payments would also be a notable upgrade.

Samsung’s next wearable release is likely to be the Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 series, which is anticipated to be unveiled at the rumored Unpacked event on July 22.

The standout feature of the new Galaxy Watch series is expected to be the adoption of Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon Wear Elite chip, replacing Samsung’s own Exynos chip and offering enhanced on-device AI capabilities.
