Samsung device users in the US and Canada now have the ability to lock, unlock, and start certain GM vehicles using a digital key stored in their Samsung Wallet.

Supported Cadillac EV Models

Beginning with select 2026 and 2027 Cadillac EVs, such as the Lyriq, Optic, and Vistiq, GM has introduced support for digital keys. The company plans to expand this feature to more models by the end of 2026.

Expanding Digital Key Support

GM recently announced that digital keys will also be available for select GMC and Chevy trucks starting in December. This feature is not exclusive to Samsung Wallet and will be compatible with Apple Wallet and Google Wallet on compatible iPhones, Apple Watches, and Pixel devices. Customers will receive a notification in the vehicle’s mobile app when digital key support becomes accessible.

Convenient Features of Digital Keys

By enabling your digital key, you can effortlessly unlock your car door as you approach it without the need to retrieve your phone from your pocket. The vehicle will automatically lock again as you move away from it. Additionally, digital keys can be shared with others and easily suspended or deleted if your device is lost or stolen.

Device Compatibility Requirements

Only Samsung Galaxy devices equipped with both ultra-wideband (UWB) and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) capabilities are compatible with this feature.

Ensure your Samsung device meets these requirements to enjoy the convenience of digital key technology.
