Scam.ai Announces Qualcomm Partnership, Launches Halo Deepfake Detection Model at Computex 2026

SAN FRANCISCO, June 29, 2026 — Scam.ai has unveiled a groundbreaking partnership with Qualcomm and introduced Halo, an innovative on-device deepfake detection model designed for live video calls. These exciting developments were revealed at Computex 2026 in Taipei, where Scam.ai was featured at Qualcomm’s booth as part of the event’s Agentic AI track, showcasing cutting-edge on-device deepfake detection technology.

According to Dennis Ng, co-founder of Scam.ai, “Deepfakes have rapidly emerged as a major concern for enterprises across various sectors, rendering traditional security measures ineffective once a breach occurs. By securely and privately analyzing video content on the device itself, we are able to prevent attacks at their source.”

The collaboration with Qualcomm grants Scam.ai access to device ecosystem resources and optimization support, enabling Halo to operate locally on personal computers without the need for cloud infrastructure. Halo functions discreetly during video conferencing sessions, promptly identifying synthetic or AI-generated video in real-time. The product is specifically optimized for Qualcomm-powered devices and is compatible with desktop computers.

Key users of Halo include HR and recruiting teams conducting video interviews, as well as high-level executives such as CEOs, CFOs, and venture capitalists who engage in frequent, high-stakes calls. Identity fraud during video interviews poses a significant enforcement risk, with only 31% of HR leaders feeling adequately equipped to detect it, and deepfake fraud attempts rising by over 2,000% in the past three years.

Key capabilities of Halo:

  • Real-time detection: Identifies synthetic video during live calls rather than after the fact
  • On-device processing: Ensures that no video footage leaves the user’s computer
  • Passive operation: Functions in the background without disrupting existing call workflows

Halo is set to launch in June 2026, with further details on enterprise integration and platform partnerships to be announced in the upcoming months.
