Warhammer 40,000: Darktide New Class Skitarii

The Darktide Skitarii: A New Addition to Warhammer 40,000

The latest update for Darktide, the co-op shooter set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe and developed by Fatshark (known for Vermintide), introduces a new playable class: the Skitarii. This cybernetically enhanced faction of soldiers, who are part of the Adeptus Mechanicus, can now be unlocked by purchasing the newest DLC, priced at $11.99 / €11.99 on PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.

For those unfamiliar with the 40K lore, the Skitarii are known for their allegiance to the Imperium’s Tech-Priests and their unique blend of technology and combat prowess. This addition brings the total number of playable characters in Darktide to seven, offering players a diverse range of options to choose from.

The Skitarii class in Darktide offers a variety of gameplay experiences, from close-quarters combat with melee weapons like the Mechanicus Power Sword and the Arc Maul, to long-range engagements using weapons such as the Arc Rifle and the Mechanicus Phosphor Blast Pistol. Players can also customize their Skitarii with unique talents and visual options, making each character truly their own.

This marks the third major DLC release for Darktide, following the Arbites and Hive Scum classes. With each update, the game has evolved into a more cohesive and engaging experience, with new content like the roguelike Mortis Trials mode, additional weapons, and an expanded endgame. As a result, many players now find Darktide to be a more compelling choice than its predecessor, Vermintide 2.

Looking ahead to 2026, Darktide continues to grow and evolve, offering players a deeper and more immersive experience than ever before. The development team’s commitment to quality of life improvements and new content has paid off, making Darktide a standout title in the Warhammer 40,000 universe.
