The Importance of Notification Lights on Phones

When it comes to the debate of notification lights on phones, some users may not see the value in them. For instance, the Nothing Phone’s Glyph interface offers a unique system that includes flashing lights for notifications. However, personally, I prefer not to have such a feature on my phone.

There are moments when I intentionally place my phone face-down on a table to avoid any distractions. In these instances, I choose to disconnect from my phone and appreciate the peace it brings. Therefore, if a manufacturer decides to add a flashing light system to the back of a phone, I would likely disable it.

Exploring the Potential of Notification Lights

Despite my reservations about notification lights, there is a possibility that Google could introduce a unique implementation for this feature. The small size of the light raises doubts about its ability to rival Nothing’s elaborate Glyph system, known for its animated indicators and timers.

While the Pixel 11 may introduce notification lights, it’s essential to consider other upgrades, such as improved camera technology, before deeming it the preferred choice. Additionally, potential price increases could impact the overall value of the device.
