Amazon Games Head Reveals Tomb Raider Catalyst Release Delay to 2028

In a recent interview with The Game Business YouTube channel, Jeffrey Gattis, the head of Amazon Games, casually disclosed that the much-anticipated game Tomb Raider Catalyst, originally slated for a 2027 release, has been pushed back to 2028.

Gattis shared, “We have obviously announced the two Tomb Raider titles. Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis is scheduled for release on February 12th next year, and we’ll be following up with the next installment in 2028. We’re thrilled about these upcoming releases.”

“Tomb Raider: Catalyst represents a daring new direction for the franchise as Lara Croft embarks on a thrilling adventure in Northern India. The game is set in the aftermath of a mythical cataclysm that has unearthed ancient secrets and awakened enigmatic forces that safeguard them. With renowned treasure hunters converging on the region, Lara must race against time to uncover hidden truths beneath the shattered landscape and thwart those seeking to exploit its power for personal gain. As the past collides with the present, Lara must navigate a web of allies and adversaries to prevent a disaster and safeguard a secret that could reshape the future.”

Developed using Unreal Engine 5, Tomb Raider: Catalyst promises players an immersive narrative of trust and betrayal that will challenge Lara Croft in unprecedented ways.

Tomb Raider: Catalyst is scheduled for release in 2028 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
