Leaked images reveal Xbox Elite 3 controller with mysterious new buttons

Microsoft’s Upcoming Xbox Elite 3 Controller Leaked by Brazil’s Anatel Regulator

Following the recent leak of a smaller Xbox Cloud Gaming controller, Brazil’s Anatel regulator has unintentionally unveiled images of what seems to be Microsoft’s highly anticipated Xbox Elite 3 controller. According to Tecnoblog, the leaked images showcase a successor to the Elite 2 controller, featuring an interchangeable D-Pad, paddles, and two intriguing new buttons.

The design of the Elite 3 controller appears to be more refined this time, with the inclusion of two new scroll wheels at the bottom. These wheels could potentially be linked to controller adjustments or introduce a new input method for games like Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Additionally, the Elite 3 will feature a new pair button that enables users to switch between a local mode or cloud mode to directly connect to Xbox Cloud Gaming servers. This cloud mode aims to enhance latency for cloud streaming games, a feature that will also be present in the smaller Xbox controller leaked earlier.

In a notable move, Microsoft is transitioning to a removable rechargeable battery for the Xbox Elite 3 controller. Anatel filings suggest that this updated controller will sport a smaller (1,528mAh) removable battery compared to the Elite 2 (2,050mAh).

While the release date for these new Xbox controllers remains uncertain, leaks from regulators hint at a possible announcement during the upcoming Xbox showcase in June. Gaming enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting further details on Microsoft’s latest innovations in the gaming controller space.
