Amazon’s built-in AI price history expands to show the entire last year

Amazon Introduces Enhanced Price Tracking Feature

Amazon has recently upgraded its built-in price tracking tool, now allowing users to monitor price fluctuations of products over the past year. By simply opening the Amazon app and selecting the “Price history” button next to the item’s price, or enquiring with Amazon’s AI assistant Rufus, customers can access this new feature.

This enhancement comes just ahead of Amazon’s annual Prime Day event, which has been recently mentioned in a “price fixing” lawsuit filed by California Attorney General. The lawsuit, led by Bonta, alleges that Amazon coerced other businesses to increase the prices of their products at various other retailers leading up to the annual deals event. Bonta further claims that Amazon pressured vendors to raise prices or remove products from other shops altogether.

The expanded price tracking tool is currently accessible in the US, UK, and India. Initially introduced in 2024, the feature only allowed users to view price changes over 30 and 90 days. Additionally, customers can utilize third-party tools such as CamelCamelCamel and Keepa to review product price histories on the platform.
