IO Interactive Releases Free DLC Extended Operations Pack for 007 First Light
IO Interactive has recently unveiled a new DLC pack for 007 First Light, titled Extended Operations. This pack includes a range of exciting additions such as a new TacSim missions, a challenging 00 difficulty mode, New Game+ feature, and more.
The highlight of the update is the introduction of the new TacSim missions, which allow players to experience the thrill of driving the Aston Martin Valhalla. Players can engage in four missions using this iconic vehicle, set in both day and night settings, and utilize its impressive array of weapons. Additionally, a new TacSim mission set in The Pearl location challenges players to infiltrate a heavily guarded villa to retrieve classified documents. This update also provides players with greater freedom in choosing their weapons.
Another notable addition is the New Game+ feature, which becomes available after completing the campaign on any difficulty level. This feature allows players to restart the game from any completed checkpoint with all their outfits, gadgets, and progression intact. For those seeking a greater challenge, the new 00 difficulty mode ramps up the gameplay by increasing enemy reaction times, introducing tougher guards, making gadget use more detectable, and enhancing combat timing.
Furthermore, players can now enjoy the new Photo Mode, enabling them to freeze the action at any moment and take control of the camera positioning to capture stunning shots. The mode also offers character posing options for added creativity.
Two gameplay enhancements have also been introduced, including improved weapon handling animation fidelity for more precise movement and weapon behavior for the main character, Bond. Additionally, players can now expect a fan-favorite enemy dispatch method, throwing off a ledge, to also be used against Bond, adding a new level of challenge to the gameplay.
007 First Light has been a major success for IO Interactive, with over 4 million copies sold by August. This origin story of the renowned spy has garnered praise for its cinematic direction and engaging gameplay. The studio has committed to a year of content updates, with the upcoming Bawma mission expanding on a character portrayed by Lenny Kravitz.
Furthermore, the highly anticipated Switch 2 port, initially delayed, is now set for release in March 2027.
