Enhancing Link Visibility: Google’s AI Search Results
Google Enhances Display of Links in AI-Powered Search Features
In a recent announcement, Google has revealed its plans to make links more prominent within its AI-powered features on Search. Robby Stein, Google Search’s vice president, shared that users will now see a list of links displayed in a pop-up when hovering over sources in AI Overviews and AI Mode on desktop. This list will include a brief description of each linked article along with accompanying images.
Stein emphasized that Google will introduce “more descriptive and prominent link icons” in its AI responses, both on desktop and mobile platforms. According to Stein, testing has shown that this new user interface is more engaging, facilitating easier access to high-quality content across the web.
