Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door: An electric sedan that can put hypercars to shame

Mercedes-Benz Unveils All-New Electric AMG GT 4-Door

Mercedes-Benz has recently introduced the latest addition to its lineup – the all-new AMG GT 4-Door. This model is a departure from its predecessors as it is no longer powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine. Instead, it boasts an electric powertrain that promises performance levels akin to hypercars.

Performance and Powertrain

The 2027 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door EV is built on the AMG.EA architecture and is equipped with a 106 kWh battery pack. This battery powers three axial flux motors, with one located in the front and one for each rear wheel.

There are two variants available – the GT55 trim offers 805 hp and 1328 lb-ft of torque, accelerating from 0-60 mph in just 2.4 seconds. The GT63 variant, on the other hand, boasts an impressive 1153 hp and 1475 lb-ft of torque, with a 0-60 mph time of just 2 seconds. Both versions have a top speed limited to 186 mph and feature a simulated V8 engine sound during hard acceleration.

Battery Range and Charging

The AMG GT 4-Door can cover up to 435 miles on a single charge and supports ultra-fast charging up to 600 kW. This allows for an addition of more than 286 miles of range in just 10 minutes.

Design and Styling

The styling of the AMG GT 4-Door is based on the AMG GT XX concept and has received mixed reviews. It features a wide, low-set grille with illuminated vertical strakes, unique headlamp designs, and a distinctive rear fascia with circular taillights.

Interior Features

Inside, the AMG GT 4-Door sports a sporty 3-spoke steering wheel, a digital cluster, and a centrally-located touchscreen angled towards the driver. Additionally, there is a separate screen for the passenger to interact with.
