The Future of BMW: ALPINA Stores for Exclusive Luxury Expansion
Introducing ALPINA: BMW’s New Luxury Brand
Article Summary
- Discover how ALPINA, BMW’s new luxury brand, plans to revolutionize the market under the guidance of Maximilian Missoni, BMW’s Head of Design for Upper Mid-Size, Luxury Class, and ALPINA.
- ALPINA vehicles will offer extensive customization options, positioning them above traditional BMW models while stopping short of the bespoke experience offered by Rolls-Royce.
- Get ready for the debut of ALPINA’s first BMW-era model next year – an upscale 7 Series G70 with exclusive features inside and out.
The Vision BMW ALPINA, a breathtaking 2+2 coupe boasting V8 power and a luxurious interior, unfortunately won’t go into production due to its ties to the now-discontinued 8 Series Gran Coupe. However, ALPINA’s inaugural model in the BMW era, a refined version of the 7 Series facelift, is set to launch next year.
BMW has confirmed that ALPINAs will be manufactured in upgraded existing factories to accommodate the increased complexity of producing high-end vehicles. The G72, expected to be assembled in Dingolfing alongside the standard G70, will be the first full-size luxury sedan to roll off the line in this town in southern Bavaria.
Anticipate a unique sales approach for ALPINA vehicles within BMW’s established dealership network. Separate areas will be designated to clearly distinguish between the two brands, with the possibility of standalone ALPINA locations in the future.
ALPINA Will Have Dedicated Areas Within BMW Dealerships
In a recent interview with BMWBLOG, Maximilian Missoni unveiled the sales strategy for ALPINA, emphasizing the brand’s elevated status and focus on customer individualization.
“ALPINA will have locations within dealerships and potentially standalone stores. While ALPINAs won’t offer the complete bespoke experience of Rolls-Royce, they will provide unique spaces and experiences for customers.”
ALPINA Fills A Gap Between BMW And Rolls-Royce
ALPINA’s strategic positioning between BMW and Rolls-Royce aims to capture the luxury market without encroaching on Rolls-Royce’s exclusive territory. Expect ALPINA to stick to inline-six and V8 engines, with plans for electric models in the future.
ALPINA is set to rival Mercedes-Maybach, with the 7 Series targeting the top-tier S-Class. Rumors suggest potential competition in the form of an XB7 successor and an ALPINA X7 to rival the Maybach GLS, with expansion into smaller vehicles planned for the future.
