Amazon Raises Prices on Echos, Kindles, Fire TVs, and Eeros

Amazon has recently announced price increases on a range of its popular devices, including Echos, Kindles, Fire TVs, and Eeros. The decision to raise prices, reportedly by up to 60 percent, is attributed to “significant increases in memory and storage component costs.”

Among the products affected by the price adjustments, the Echo Dot smart speaker saw a substantial increase from $49.99 to $79.99. Similarly, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max and the base level Kindle also experienced price hikes of over 40 percent and nearly 37 percent, respectively.

In response to inquiries about the price changes, Kristy Schmidt, senior communications manager of Amazon’s Devices & Services division, explained that the consumer electronics industry is facing challenges due to rising memory and storage component costs. Amazon’s commitment to offering quality products at affordable prices remains unchanged.

Not all Amazon hardware products have been affected by the price adjustments. Devices such as Ring cameras, video doorbells, and the Echo Studio have maintained their original pricing.
