Assassin’s Creed Shadows Final Update Arriving This Month

Publisher Ubisoft and developer Ubisoft Quebec have announced that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will receive its final update this month.

The final update is set to launch on June 16th for all platforms and will introduce the new “Black Tides” store quest to build anticipation for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, scheduled for release in July.

New Free Story Quest: Black Tides

A new danger emerges!

Two elite-level Templars, known as “Black Cross,” are dispatched to Japan to track down Naoe and Yasuke for their disruptive actions. However, the Templar Order’s motives might extend beyond their assigned task. It’s up to our protagonists to thwart their plans and survive…

Requirements for Black Tides:

• Complete Naoe & Yasuke’s main story
• Finish the post-launch quest “A Critical Encounter”
• Conclude the post-launch quest “A Puzzlement”

New Crossover Projects: Riptides & Undertow

Introducing two new crossover Projects, Riptides and Undertow, accessible in the Animus HUB. Players can unlock themed outfits, weapons, trinkets, and more!

To activate these projects, complete Anomalies and progress through the rewards, similar to previous releases. Rewards cater to both Shadows and Black Flag Resynced and can be earned by completing Anomalies from both games.

Note: These projects will not be available on Nintendo Switch 2 due to crossover content with Black Flag Resynced, which will not be available on Nintendo platforms.

New End-game Feature: Domains

An exciting Animus activity designed to challenge players’ RPG build crafting skills with 5 new gameplay simulations spanning 10 challenge levels.

Unlock requirements: Reach level 30

MOD, an Assassin hacker, has devised a new simulation called “Domains” to enhance Dark Animus users’ combat and survival abilities. By conquering higher difficulties, players can access new outfits, weapons, trinkets, and engravings. The varying gameplay modifiers aim to push players out of their comfort zones and encourage strategic loadout adjustments.

MOD offers an exclusive shop with in-game currency for purchasing end-game gear sets, potent engravings, and a progression tree to tackle escalating challenges within Domains. Players who excel in these challenges will gain recognition with exclusive weapons and armor.

Note: Domain-exclusive items are solely for bragging rights and will not be available through regular channels.

New Animus Rift: Horizon

Quality of Life HUB Improvements

Enhancements to the access of Animus HUB features in the main menu have been implemented for a seamless user experience. The System menu can now only be accessed via the Shadows’ Memory page.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been available since March 2025 on various platforms including Windows PC (Steam, Ubisoft Store, Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and Amazon Luna.
