Dead by Daylight: Decade of Terror – Unveiling New Horrors with Character, Map, and Game Enhancements
Exciting Updates Coming to Dead by Daylight
As Dead by Daylight celebrates its 10th anniversary, Behaviour Interactive has unveiled a roadmap for the game’s future during a special reveal stream. The upcoming updates promise not only more collaborations but also significant gameplay enhancements and visual upgrades that will breathe new life into the game.
Upcoming Additions
Among the immediate additions is the arrival of Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th franchise on June 16th as a killer. To balance this, a new original survivor named Shane Wiigwaas will be introduced on June 25th in the Dead by Daylight: The Life Road chapter. Shane, the game’s first Indigenous survivor, is a lawyer from the Anishinaabe community seeking justice for his wrongly convicted cousins after a mysterious disappearance.
Looking ahead, players can anticipate the Chorus of Sin chapter in August, Art the Clown from Terrifier in November, and a chapter based on The Casting of Frank Stone in 2027. Additionally, a new shopping mall map will be introduced in December, offering a blend of retail environments and eerie horror elements to enrich the game’s lore.
Visual Overhaul in 2027
One of the most significant updates on the horizon is a comprehensive visual overhaul scheduled for 2027. This overhaul will introduce new character models with enhanced animations and realistic facial expressions. The revamped maps and environments will feature improved lighting, shading, textures, and a dynamic weather system to heighten the atmospheric experience during rainy or stormy conditions.
New gameplay modes are also in development, including a 1v1 experience pitting a survivor against a killer and a zombies mode where survivors seek a cure while evading a deadly antagonist.
Excitingly, the game will soon offer expanded modding capabilities, allowing players to create custom maps, modes, and more within a sandboxed environment.

Exciting Collaborations
Lastly, players can look forward to a range of new cosmetic items and collaborations featuring popular IPs such as Ice Nine Kills, Silent Hill, Diablo IV, and even Scooby-Doo. These additions will offer unique customization options to enhance the gaming experience.
