Apple releases iOS 26.6 beta 2 for iPhone, here’s what to expect [U]

On June 16, 2026, iOS 26.6 public beta 2 has been released, following closely after the initial beta launch.

Although the focus has shifted to iOS 27, Apple is still gearing up for the release of iOS 26.6 as the next update for iPhones. The second developer beta of iOS 26.6 has been rolled out by Apple, succeeding the initial developer beta and public beta that came out in May.

Exploring the Features and Changes in iOS 26.6

Two notable changes have been uncovered in the iOS 26.6 beta version.

The first change involves an adjustment to the limit on the number of contacts that can be blocked. Additionally, there seems to be a new anti-theft feature in development for iPhones.

Beyond these changes, not many new features or functionalities are expected, as all eyes are now on iOS 27.

Apple is set to deliver its next major software update to users in September, with iOS 27 undergoing further refinement throughout the summer.

iOS 26.6 is slated to be the next iteration, building upon iOS 26 and its subsequent updates since last autumn.

Interestingly, last year saw the release of iOS 18.6 beta 1 after the debut of iOS 26 beta 1, indicating that the timeline for iOS 26.6 is slightly accelerated compared to Apple’s 2025 release schedule.
