2027 Skoda Peaq electric family SUV revealed as the peak of Czech brand's lineup

Skoda has unveiled the 2027 Peaq, a seven-seat electric SUV that builds on the success of the Enyaq. Positioned above the Enyaq in Skoda’s lineup, the Peaq competes directly with models like the Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 9.

The Peaq is Skoda’s largest electric model to date, based on the updated version of the Volkswagen Group’s MEB electric car platform. It offers a choice of powertrains and batteries, starting with the Peaq 60, a rear-wheel drive, single-motor version with 150kW of power and a 63kWh battery providing a range of approximately 460km.

For those seeking more power, the Peaq 90 offers 210kW from a rear-drive, single-motor setup, with a 91kWh battery and a range of 600km. The Peaq 90x adds all-wheel drive with an extra electric motor driving the front wheels, delivering a combined maximum power output of 220kW.

Charging the Peaq is fast and convenient, with DC fast-charging allowing for a 10-80% charge in under 28 minutes.

The design of the Peaq draws inspiration from the Vision 7S concept car and features T-shaped LED running lights, a ‘Tech Deck’ light-up grille, and a sleek aerodynamic profile with a drag coefficient of 0.25Cd.

Inside, the Peaq boasts a vertical portrait-style touchscreen with Google-based software, physical buttons for essential controls, and high-quality materials like ‘Suedia’ upholstery in Sportline variants.

The spacious interior offers comfortable seating for up to seven passengers, with clever storage solutions, wireless phone chargers, and premium amenities like a high-output Sonos stereo system.

Cargo space in the Peaq is flexible, with up to 935L available in the five-seat configuration. The frunk storage area adds practicality without compromising storage space for cables.

While pricing for the Peaq has yet to be confirmed, it is expected to start in the mid-$70,000 range in Australia, reflecting the shift towards more premium offerings from Skoda.

In conclusion, the Skoda Peaq represents a significant step forward in the brand’s electric vehicle lineup, offering a blend of performance, comfort, and practicality in a stylish and innovative package.
