Luxury car theft ring busted in US; 90 high-end cars worth $8M stolen

Major Luxury Car Theft Network Busted in the United States

An extensive luxury car theft network that targeted high-end vehicles has been dismantled in the United States. Law enforcement authorities have uncovered a sophisticated criminal enterprise allegedly responsible for stealing over 90 premium cars, including Porsches, BMWs, and Range Rovers, with a total estimated value exceeding $8 million.

The breakthrough in this case was announced by New Jersey Attorney General Jennifer Davenport, following a comprehensive year-long investigation involving multiple agencies. Charges have been filed against 63 individuals, revealing the meticulous planning and execution of the operation.

Prosecutors have disclosed that the thefts were not random acts but targeted specific vehicles that were carefully monitored before being stolen. The stolen cars were then reportedly funneled through a structured system resembling a legitimate business operation. Subsequently, the vehicles were transferred to key individuals within the network and eventually shipped to a port in Irvington.

Containers were used to transport the stolen cars, which were then exported through ports in New Jersey and New York, ultimately reaching buyers in West Africa, particularly in Ghana and Nigeria.

The charges brought against the individuals involved in this criminal network are extensive and include racketeering, vehicle theft, trafficking, and burglary, underscoring the highly organized nature of the enterprise. Authorities believe that the network was active between June 2025 and June 2026.
