Lenovo’s Latest Reveals: A Laptop and 2-in-1 Tablet Leak Online

Lenovo is set to unveil some of the earliest Googlebook models later this year, and recent leaked images offer a sneak peek at their potential designs. The leaked press photos, shared by Digital Citizen and Android Headlines, showcase a laptop and a 2-in-1 tablet, both featuring prominent Googlebook branding on the keyboard.

This marks the most detailed look we’ve had at Google’s Chromebook successor since the announcement of the Android-based Googlebook platform in May. While specific details about the project are still scarce, it’s confirmed that Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo are gearing up to launch the initial models in Fall 2026. The upcoming Googlebooks are anticipated to move away from ChromeOS in favor of a new operating system, with integration of Gemini AI across various functionalities.

The leaked Lenovo designs bear a resemblance to the current Chromebook lineup, albeit with some noticeable differences. The Lenovo Googlebook laptop seems to come in two size variants, featuring a distinctive light strip on the back reminiscent of the glowing bar seen in official Googlebook renders released earlier this year. The 2-in-1 tablet also incorporates a light bar on the rear camera housing, similar to the rumored design of the upcoming Pixel 11 lineup.

Notably, the keyboards of these new Lenovo devices sport a new key on the bottom row showcasing Google’s iconic “G” branding. According to Digital Citizen, this key is dedicated to accessing Gemini, although it’s interesting to observe that the keyboards also include a Quick Insert button in place of the traditional cap lock key— a feature initially introduced by Chromebooks to summon Gemini in 2024.
