Leap and Lick: The Ultimate Froggy Co-op Adventure
The Exciting World of Big Hops: A 3D Platform Adventure
Big Hops is an innovative 3D platform game that follows the adventures of a frog with a unique ability – using its tongue as a grappling hook. While real-life frogs may not possess such extraordinary skills, the virtual world of Big Hops offers players an exhilarating experience unlike anything seen in nature. Some frog species, like the African dwarf frog, don’t even have tongues at all, adding to the game’s fantastical appeal.
The latest update for Big Hops introduces an exciting new feature – the ability to play the entire campaign in eight-player co-op mode. With eight frogs working together, the strategic possibilities of using tongues in gameplay are multiplied exponentially. Players can now interact with each other in ways never before seen, like retrieving items from a friend’s backpack using their tongues or tethering themselves to another frog for cooperative maneuvers. The update, known as Big Hops Together, is currently available in beta, with the official release scheduled for 9th August.
According to Luckshot Games’ Chris Wade, the update represents a complete rewrite of the game’s systems, requiring months of dedicated work from the development team. Wade highlights the complexity of the update and the significant effort put into making it a reality. The result is a game experience that promises to redefine the cooperative gameplay genre.
In a video blog, Wade discusses the inspiration behind Big Hops Together, citing influences from popular multiplayer mods of games like Mario Odyssey and Mario 64. These mods have paved the way for innovative gameplay mechanics that redefine how players interact with familiar game worlds. Wade’s vision for Big Hops Together is to create a unique and engaging multiplayer experience that stands out in the crowded gaming market.
Despite not receiving a formal review, Big Hops has garnered positive feedback from players and industry insiders. The decision not to review the game was not due to negligence but rather a simple oversight. Additionally, the involvement of RPS contributor Robert Yang in the game’s development raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest. However, the overall reception of Big Hops has been favorable, with many anticipating the release of Big Hops Together on 9th August.
If you’re a fan of cooperative gameplay and innovative mechanics, Big Hops Together offers a unique gaming experience that is sure to delight. With shared progress and engaging storylines, this update promises to bring a new level of excitement to the world of gaming. Don’t miss out on the chance to join the froggy fun on 9th August!
