Porsche Expands Sonderwunsch Program for Customized Luxury Cars

Porsche’s Sonderwunsch program is poised for growth, offering wealthy clients more creative freedom in designing their dream cars. The German automaker, known for its high-end vehicles, is set to unveil a series of unique projects that cater to individual tastes.

Speaking on the program’s expansion, Porsche’s Vice President of Product and Individualisation, Alexander Fabig, revealed that several long-term projects are in progress and will be unveiled in the coming months and years. These bespoke builds typically take around three years to complete, with the recent Flachbau RS model requiring an extensive 39-month development process.

Interestingly, there is a growing demand for bespoke four-door sports cars, a departure from Porsche’s traditional offerings. While customer inquiries on this front have been significant, Porsche’s definitive response to this trend remains uncertain.

Porsche notes that most clientele are more focused on unique body designs and personal customization rather than increased horsepower. However, turning these custom concepts into reality through the Sonderwunsch program comes at a premium. Clients looking to explore their ideas face a $150,000 concept development fee, with the actual production of a one-off car starting at approximately $2 million and potentially escalating further.
