The Affordable Next-Gen BYD Han Sedan: A Sneak Peek

In China, the upcoming BYD Han is currently undergoing testing, offering a glimpse into what could potentially be the most budget-friendly addition to the expanding Han sedan lineup. Priced at an estimated 200,000 yuan ($29,900), this new Han model is expected to occupy a position below the Han L, placing it beneath the flagship Da Han. Both electric vehicle (EV) and plug-in hybrid powertrains are anticipated for this model.

Despite the camouflage, distinct BYD design elements are evident. The sedan showcases the brand’s signature Dragon Face styling at the front and a continuous taillight bar at the rear. Internally, a minimalist approach is maintained with a white interior, a prominent central infotainment display, and a lineup of physical controls on the center console.

Technological advancements are expected to be a key selling point for the new Han. It is likely to incorporate BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and Flash Charging technology, with a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor hinting at advanced driver-assistance capabilities.

Reports also indicate the potential availability of DiSus-C adaptive damping and the more advanced DiSus-A air suspension for this model.
