Amazon Introduces Sleep Studio Feature for Echo and Echo Kids Smart Speakers

Amazon has recently unveiled a new feature for its Echo and Echo Kids smart speakers known as Sleep Studio. This innovative feature aims to facilitate the bedtime routine for children, making it more appealing for kids and less stressful for parents and caregivers. By incorporating bedtime stories, calming sounds, guided meditations, and customizable scheduling options, Sleep Studio provides a comprehensive solution for a peaceful transition to sleep.

The Sleep Studio feature is accessible to Amazon Kids Plus subscribers at no additional cost, priced at $5.99 per month. Users can also avail of a free one-month trial, while the purchase of an Echo Kids device includes a complimentary six or 12-month subscription. This subscription model makes the Sleep Studio experience easily accessible to families seeking a peaceful bedtime routine for their children.

Parents can personalize curated playlists and sleep schedules for their kids through the Amazon Kids Parent Dashboard, available as a mobile app for both iOS and Android devices. A 30-minute wind-down routine is automatically initiated on Echo devices half an hour before the child’s bedtime. Additionally, children have the option to start the routine themselves by simply saying “Alexa, play Sleep Studio.” The Echo Glow, acting as a night light, changes colors to indicate when it’s time to sleep and when it’s time to wake up.

The content featured in Sleep Studio is sourced from renowned platforms such as Headspace, Moshi, and Calm. Fergal Walker, Vice President of Partnerships at Calm, emphasizes the importance of quality sleep for children, highlighting Calm’s extensive library of meditations, lullabies, soundscapes, and Sleep Stories tailored for kids. This collaboration aims to promote relaxation and better sleep habits among young users.
