BMW M2 Track Kit Steals the Show at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2026

The Impressive Performance of BMW’s M2 with the M Performance Track Kit

BMW showcased two distinct M cars at Goodwood this year: the one-off M3 Touring 24H race wagon and the regular G87 M2 with the new M Performance Track Kit. The M3 Touring 24H achieved a time of 46.54 seconds in the Timed Shoot-Out, while the M2’s performance was not officially timed in that session.

The real highlight was the M2’s record-breaking lap at the Nürburgring, clocking in at 7:20, surpassing the previous record set by the M2 CS. The improvements were achieved through aero and suspension enhancements, without any modifications to the S58 engine.

The Components of the M Performance Track Kit

The Track Kit, priced at €23,500 before tax, includes a carbon-fiber swan-neck rear wing from BMW’s racing cars, an adjustable front splitter, and a coilover suspension system with adjustable rebound and compression damping. These enhancements contribute to the car’s track performance while maintaining road legality.

Future Possibilities for the M2

There is speculation about the potential application of the Track Kit on an M2 CS for further performance gains. The longevity of the G87 M2 in production leaves room for BMW to explore new iterations, with an M2 CSL being a potential future development.
