Dune: Awakening to Launch on PS5 with Physical Release

Ahead of its upcoming console debut, Funcom has unveiled new gameplay insights and a physical release for Dune: Awakening. The PS5 version of the game is set to receive a physical edition through Solutions 2 Go in the Americas and Bandai Namco in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.

Dune: Awakening initially hit the global market in June 2025 for Windows PC via Steam. The game is now gearing up for its launch on Xbox Series X|S and PS5 on September 22nd.

In a press statement, Funcom CEO Rui Casais expressed excitement about the upcoming console release, stating, “September 22nd isn’t just putting the game on consoles. It’s a major milestone for us, the second launch of Dune: Awakening across PC, PlayStation 5, and XBOX. For more than a year now we have expanded and enhanced Dune: Awakening on PC and all these additions, as well as several new ones, will be available on all platforms on day one. This is the best version of Dune: Awakening yet and we’re excited to open it up to a much larger audience across platforms.”

The console release will include various enhancements and additions that have been implemented on PC post-launch, such as optional PvP, expanded late-game content, new locations, missions, and numerous quality of life improvements.

Console Editions and Pre-Order Bonuses:

• Physical: The PlayStation 5 base game edition will include the exclusive Terrarium of Muad’Dib and a global color swatch for a limited time.
• Digital: Players can choose from the Base game, Deluxe Edition, and Ultimate Edition on the PlayStation Store and XBOX Store. Pre-ordering any edition grants access to the Terrarium of Muad’Dib and the global color swatch. Pre-ordering Deluxe or Ultimate Editions also offers a 5-day head start and additional in-game content like DLCs, armor, and building pieces.
