Leak reveals new Xbox Game Pass ‘Starter Edition’ that’s part of Discord Nitro

Microsoft Teases Discord and Xbox Game Pass Partnership

Yesterday, Microsoft hinted at an upcoming partnership between Discord and Xbox Game Pass. A recent leak has shed light on the details of this collaboration. Discord Previews has revealed the existence of an Xbox Game Pass “Starter Edition” that includes Discord Nitro.

The Starter Edition is said to provide users with access to over 50 games from the Game Pass library. Additionally, subscribers will receive 10 hours of Xbox Cloud Gaming streaming per month and the opportunity to earn Xbox Rewards points while playing. Although the specific titles included in the package remain undisclosed, leaked images suggest that popular games like Stardew Valley, Grounded, and Fallout 4 will be part of the offering.

Interestingly, the Starter Edition is not limited to Microsoft’s first-party Xbox games. redphx, a developer associated with Better xCloud, recently uncovered the Xbox Game Pass (Starter Edition) and mentioned that a variety of third-party games will also be accessible through this tier.

Back in February, reports emerged suggesting that Microsoft was exploring options to bundle third-party services with Game Pass subscriptions. This new Starter Edition seems to be a step in that direction, allowing other services to integrate with Game Pass. In fact, Netflix co-CEO Greg Peters hinted at the possibility of partnering with Game Pass for subscription bundles in an interview with The Information last month. This indicates a potential trend towards collaboration between different subscription services in the near future.
