Ferrari 12Cilindri MM: Revolutionizing with Koenigsegg-Inspired Shift-By-Wire Manual Gearbox
Ferrari Rumored to Unveil Limited-Edition 12Cilindri with Manual Transmission
Rumors are swirling that Ferrari is set to launch a limited-edition 12Cilindri model in the coming weeks, featuring a manual transmission. However, the latest speculation hints that this manual transmission will not be traditional, which may disappoint some enthusiasts.
Instead of the conventional H-pattern manual, the Ferrari 12Cilindri MM could potentially come equipped with a Koenigsegg-style shift-by-wire transmission known as the Engage Shift System (ESS). This innovative system mimics a 6-speed manual gearbox while actually being a 9-speed automatic, offering a unique driving experience.
Reports suggest that Ferrari has chosen this system to electronically replicate the feel of a manual transmission, enhancing driver engagement. The 12Cilindri MM is rumored to be produced in limited quantities, with only around 500 units planned, making it a highly sought-after model.
Securing a slot for the 12Cilindri MM may prove challenging, as potential buyers may need to commit to purchasing another Ferrari model to be eligible. Furthermore, an even more potent variant of the 12Cilindri, known as the ‘GTO’, is on the horizon. This version is expected to be a lighter and more dynamic iteration of the front-engined V12 grand tourer, promising an exhilarating driving experience.
