Motorola: The Unexpected Favorite in Phone Brands
Quietly but surely, Motorola is emerging as a favorite phone manufacturer, posing a real challenge to competitors like Samsung.
The company, owned by Lenovo, is no stranger to the market. However, it has been transitioning to a more assertive and bold approach recently.
Motorola was once known for its budget-friendly, well-built phones. The Moto G series was a go-to recommendation for those on a tight budget, consistently ranking high on the best budget phone lists.
In recent years, Motorola has expanded its focus to include not only the Moto G series but also mid-range and flagship phones that are of excellent quality.

The Motorola Signature has quickly become one of the top flagship phones of 2026, offering a slim design, stylish look, and excellent camera quality at a competitive price compared to the iPhone Air and Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.
Another standout phone is the Motorola Razr Fold, which enhances the work done on the Signature with a unique foldable design. While not as slim as the Galaxy Z Fold 7, the Razr Fold offers a more practical daily use experience.
Unlike other manufacturers that follow iPhone-like designs, Motorola has taken a different approach. Their phones feature warm, natural materials, curved edges, and vibrant colors, setting them apart from the competition.
Aside from phones, Motorola is also delving into accessories, wearables, and audio products, expanding its product range.
Sticking like a magnet
Motorola is expected to continue pushing boundaries in various areas.
The Motorola Edge 70 Max is rumored to be in development, as it recently appeared on the Wireless Power Consortium certification database. This hints at the phone featuring Qi2 wireless charging support, including the faster 25W Qi 2.2 standard.
While magnetic wireless charging has been popularized by iPhones, Motorola is set to introduce it in the Motorola Edge 70 Max, aligning with the Qi2 standard, a feature not commonly found in Android phones.
Motorola’s diverse smartphone lineup is impressive, and the company shows no signs of slowing down as we approach 2027. This forward momentum should give competitors pause in an otherwise stagnant market.
