Indie developer Parasol Corp has unveiled an exciting new project for retro game enthusiasts – Cozy Game Restoration. Scheduled for release this fall, the game offers a unique simulation experience revolving around the cleaning, restoration, and collection of fictional retro game cartridges.

Set to launch on PC (Steam) on September 24, 2026, Cozy Game Restoration is the brainchild of Melbourne-based studio Parasol Corp. Players will embark on a journey filled with mystery parcels containing battered cartridges, waiting to be restored to their former glory.

Each package holds a surprise as players unwrap them and tackle dirt, marker ink, scratches, stickers, and stubborn adhesive residue using an array of cleaning tools. With procedurally dirtied cartridges, each restoration presents a fresh challenge with varying degrees of damage and grime.

The game boasts a collection of 108 fictional games inspired by classic releases from the 1980s to the early 2000s. Additionally, cartridges come in different rarities, featuring regional versions, alternative artwork, and unique shells, including coveted golden variants.

As players restore games, they will embark on collection quests tied to the in-game calendar. Completing objectives rewards them with decorations and cosmetic items to personalize their collection room, adding a layer of customization to the gameplay experience.
