The Downfall of Google Pixel 11’s Magic Capture: A Tech Advisor Perspective
Expressing skepticism doesn’t even begin to cover it. Magic Capture brings forth a myriad of potential issues, and I remain unconvinced of Google’s capability to address them.
Curious About Magic Capture?
Magic Capture stands out as one of the key features of the Pixel 11 series, with possibilities of extending to older Pixel models in the future.
Placing complete trust in Google’s AI to document one’s life in this manner is beyond comprehension.
Essentially, as you record a video, Google’s AI consistently scans the scene for moments worth capturing. Upon identifying significant occurrences, it captures a photo and presents a selection of top images after you finish recording.
Sounds Promising! Any Downsides?
While it has potential, the reliance on Google’s AI to document life events in such a manner seems risky.
What About Gemini?
Gemini can be impressive, but more as a problem-solving chatbot rather than a photography substitute.
Recent experiences don’t offer much encouragement. Last December, Google introduced the ‘Google Photos Recap’ feature, similar to Spotify Wrapped, summarizing key stats and memories from the year in a 90-second, Instagram-style clip.
