Hennessey Performance recently made waves at Monterey Car Week with the unveiling of their new Blackbird hypercar. The demand for this stunning vehicle was so high that all 71 units were completely sold out within a mere 4 hours after its public debut.

The company revealed that an astonishing 60 out of the 71 units had already been sold even before the official unveiling to the public. By the time the car was showcased at The Quail, only a few build slots remained, and these were quickly snapped up within the four-hour window.

John Hennessey, the Founder, and CEO of the company, expressed his surprise at the overwhelmingly positive response, stating, “Selling out so fast is testament to the stunning design and our team’s appreciation of what makes hypercar ownership special.”

The Hennessey Blackbird draws inspiration from the iconic SR-71 Blackbird aircraft. According to the company, it was specifically designed for drivers who value emotion, engagement, and the ability to use the car for long distances. Priced at $2.5 million before taxes, this hypercar is definitely a luxury investment.

Under the hood, the Blackbird is equipped with a powerful 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine, delivering an impressive output of around 800-850 horsepower. The power generated by this engine is transmitted to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission.
