Enhanced Functionality: Chrome Bookmark Bar Comes to Android Tablets and Foldables
Google Chrome Update Adds Bookmark Bar for Android Foldables and Tablets
In the world of software updates, it’s often the small details that make the biggest impact. Google has announced a new feature for Chrome that will enhance the browsing experience on Android foldables and tablets. This new feature will bring a bookmark bar to the browser, making the browsing experience on larger mobile devices more similar to that of laptops and desktops running Chrome.
The addition of the bookmarks bar on mobile devices will display Favicons and site names below the Omnibox. Users will be able to scroll through their bookmarks using a chevron and view the full URL of a bookmark with a long press. This new feature is part of version 146 of Chrome’s Android version, which was released today.
To activate the bookmarks bar on your device, you will need to enable it manually. By default, the bar will be hidden on narrow screens. To show the bookmarks bar, go to Settings, then Appearance, and select “Show bookmarks bar.”
