If Google’s HiLight Feature Disappoints, What Does It Mean for Pixel 11 Pro Models?

In my opinion, the name HiLight for Google’s new feature is less than impressive. If this is Google’s way of taking a jab at leakers, it may not have been the best choice.

However, according to a leak by Roland Quandt, the news gets even worse. Despite Google teasing the feature and it appearing in numerous leaked renders of the phones, HiLight may only have two basic functions.

The information reveals that HiLight allows users to “Stay informed without looking at your screen. When your smartphone is turned upside down, HiLight discreetly illuminates when your favorite contacts call you or when you chat with Gemini.”

These were the anticipated features of Pixel Glow, or now known as HiLight, but many assumed this was just the beginning. Hopefully, Google has more in store for this feature, and we’ll learn more on August 12 at the Made by Google event.

It appears that HiLight will be exclusive to the Pixel 11 Pro models, including the Fold variant, and will replace the previously exclusive temperature sensor that was housed in the camera bar.
