The Innovation of Steve Jobs Honored with New $1 Coin by US Mint

The United States Mint recently unveiled the design of a new $1 American Innovation Coin featuring the iconic Steve Jobs, set to go into production soon. The coin showcases a young Steve Jobs in his signature turtleneck, jeans, and sneakers, sitting against a backdrop of California hills in a moment of contemplation.

Described by the US Mint as follows, the design captures Jobs’ inspiration from the northern California landscape, reflecting his vision to make technology as intuitive and organic as nature itself. The inscriptions on the coin include “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “CALIFORNIA,” “STEVE JOBS,” and “MAKE SOMETHING WONDERFUL.”

Expected to be available on the US Mint website in 2026, the Steve Jobs coin will be priced at $13.25 for a single coin or $27.50 for a four-coin set featuring other innovators and innovations. Rolls of 25 coins and bags of 100 will also be offered.

The American Innovation series, which began in 2018, allows each US state to nominate an innovator or invention to be commemorated on a $1 coin. California Governor Gavin Newsom nominated Steve Jobs earlier this year, citing Jobs as someone who embodies the innovative spirit that California is known for.
