China, as the world’s largest car market, recently hosted Auto China 2026, the biggest motor show globally. The event attracted massive crowds of both media representatives and the general public upon its opening in Beijing last week. Featuring an impressive 17 halls and showcasing over 1500 vehicles with more than 250 reveals, this year’s exhibition highlighted the Chinese automotive industry’s manufacturing prowess and innovation.

International car brands also made an effort to demonstrate their appeal to Chinese consumers in a market that annually sells over 30 million new vehicles, almost double the number sold in the United States.

HITS
Hyundai Ioniq V
The Hyundai Ioniq V wowed with its stunning, Lamborghini-inspired design, showcasing the brand’s willingness to take risks. Unfortunately, this model is exclusively for Chinese buyers.

Freelander 8
Chery’s collaboration on the Freelander 8, featuring Land Rover-inspired design, aims to offer a budget-friendly alternative. However, this partnership may pose a challenge for Jaguar Land Rover in the future.

Denza Z Convertible
The Denza Z Convertible impressed with its elegant design and fast-charging capabilities, combining style and EV technology seamlessly.

Nissan Terrano
The Nissan Terrano showcased the brand’s resilience and unique styling, appealing to a global audience.

GWM Tank 700 with V8 power
The GWM Tank 700, equipped with V8 power, challenges Toyota with a LandCruiser alternative, reviving a classic formula for success.

Lepas L4 EV
