RingCentral’s AI Receptionist Enhanced with Shopify, Calendly, and WhatsApp Integration
RingCentral Enhances AI Receptionist Product With Shopify, Calendly, and WhatsApp Integration
RingCentral has recently expanded its AI Receptionist product, known as AIR, by integrating new links to Shopify, Calendly, and WhatsApp. This move aims to propel the communications software company beyond basic call answering capabilities and into more advanced customer service tasks.
The enhanced AI Receptionist can now handle order inquiries through Shopify, schedule appointments via Calendly, and respond to inbound messages on WhatsApp. Additionally, AIR has been integrated into shared SMS inboxes and call queues, allowing it to answer texts and assist when phone lines are busy or staff are unavailable.
Currently, over 11,800 businesses are utilizing AIR, with a focus on smaller and mid-sized organizations that frequently receive inbound inquiries. RingCentral has identified industries such as healthcare, financial services, legal, hospitality, and construction as key sectors where customers are leveraging AIR for front-desk tasks and after-hours support.
One of the companies that have successfully implemented AIR is Keller Interiors, an installation firm working with Lowe’s Home Improvement. Beth Owens, Chief of Staff at Keller Interiors, mentioned that they faced a routing challenge that was challenging to address with human resources. By deploying RingCentral AIR, they managed to optimize call routing across 33 locations, resulting in reduced waiting times and increased customer satisfaction.
Another satisfied user of AIR is Maple Federal Credit Union, where Tara Breaux, Vice President of Operations, highlighted the significant reduction in hold times at branches, leading to improved service efficiency and customer experience.
The new integration with Shopify enables AIR to address basic order and customer support queries over the phone. The Calendly interface allows AIR to schedule appointments seamlessly, while the WhatsApp integration extends its reach to a widely used messaging platform among consumers and small businesses.
Furthermore, RingCentral has introduced automatic language detection to AIR, enabling it to identify the caller’s language and continue the conversation in that language. With support for 10 languages, including English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, and Portuguese, AIR aims to enhance multilingual customer interactions.
Michelle Morgan, Research Manager at IDC, commended RingCentral’s strategic expansion of AIR, emphasizing how applied AI should address specific business challenges effectively. Joe Fahrner, Vice President of Growth for AI Products at RingCentral, envisions AIR evolving into a “digital employee” for small and mid-market businesses.
RingCentral has made AIR available as a standalone product, starting at $49 per month, which includes 100 minutes. Existing RingEX customers can integrate AIR starting at $39 per month, also with 100 minutes included.
