Google’s New AI Ad Detection Feature: How to Spot AI-Created Ads
Google Introduces AI Label for Ads on Google Search, Google Discover, and YouTube
Google has recently added a new feature to its “My Ad Center” that allows users to determine whether ads on Google Search, Google Discover, and YouTube were created or edited using artificial intelligence. This update, reported by TechCrunch, includes a “created or edited with AI” label under the “how this ad was made” tab. To access this information, users can simply tap on the three dots or info button on the ads, which will bring up a panel where they can also block or report ads.
According to Google, the AI label will be automatically applied to any ads created with its own generative AI advertising tools. However, ads made with AI from other sources will need to have the label manually applied. In certain regions, Google’s new AI labels may also be displayed directly on the ad itself, either automatically or when an advertiser discloses that their ad was created using AI.
