Salesforce Bolsters Agentforce Engineering Team with Former Microsoft Executive
Cybersecurity Executive Krishna Kumar Parthasarathy Joins Salesforce
Krishna Kumar Parthasarathy, a cybersecurity executive with almost thirty years of experience at Microsoft, has recently announced his move to Salesforce as the executive vice president of engineering.
Parthasarathy’s transition is part of a trend where senior Microsoft security leaders have left the company to take up executive positions at major tech competitors like Amazon Web Services (AWS), ServiceNow, and Salesforce.
In his new role at Salesforce, Parthasarathy will be responsible for overseeing engineering teams working on core products and features such as Agentforce, Agentforce Voice, Digital Channels, and Service Cloud.
Speaking about his new position, Parthasarathy emphasized Salesforce’s crucial position in enterprise trust and customer context, stating, “In an agentic world, that foundation is everything,” on LinkedIn.
Other notable departures from Microsoft’s security division in recent months include:
- Rohan Kumar, former corporate vice president of Microsoft Security, who joined Salesforce as president and chief platform officer.
- Rudra “Rudy” Mitra, who spent over 27 years at Microsoft and recently led its Purview data-security business, moved to AWS as the vice president of security services.
- Rahul Prakash, former head of product for Microsoft Security Copilot, joined ServiceNow as vice president of product management in identity security.
- Vasu Jakkal, former corporate vice president of security, compliance, identity, management, and privacy, left Microsoft after six years and has yet to announce her next role.
- Joy Chik, former president of identity and network access, announced her retirement in April.
The changes in leadership are part of a broader restructuring within Microsoft’s security business under Hayete Gallot, who returned to the company from Google to lead the group. Naseem Tuffaha also returned to Microsoft recently to assume the corporate VP position left by Rohan Kumar.
