Affordable Electric Vehicle Now Available in Australia: Leapmotor B03 Approved for Sale

The Leapmotor B03 has received the green light to be sold in Australia, positioning itself to compete with other budget-friendly electric vehicles like the BYD Atto 1 and Geely EX2. This electric hatchback will come in two variants for Australian roads: a 130kW base model and a more powerful 145kW version. Both motors produce 200Nm of torque and power the front wheels.

In addition to the Australian models, Chinese variants are available with 70kW/150Nm and 90kW/150Nm motors. The Australian-bound B03 will come with either 16- or 17-inch wheels, paired with 205/55 tires regardless of the rim size.

In terms of competitors, the BYD Atto 1 Essential is priced at $23,990, while the Geely EX2 Complete starts at $26,490. The BYD Atto 1 Premium model offers a more powerful motor and larger battery for $27,990, and the BYD Dolphin Essential is priced at $29,990. These prices exclude on-road costs.
