Amazon Music Introduces AI Assistant Alexa Plus for Enhanced User Experience

Amazon has unveiled a new feature for its Music streaming service, Alexa Plus, which leverages artificial intelligence to provide users with advanced capabilities. Customers enrolled in the Alexa Plus Early Access beta can now access the generative AI assistant directly within the Amazon Music app on both iOS and Android devices. This integration allows users across all subscription tiers to make complex music requests and obtain obscure information effortlessly.

With the Alexa Plus integration, users can find songs based on lyrics they can’t remember or identify tracks based on the shows they were featured in. Additionally, the AI assistant can offer insights into chart positions, festival lineups, and the meanings behind song lyrics. Users can receive tailored music recommendations based on specific eras, moods, artists, and instruments, while also having the ability to exclude genres or artists they prefer not to listen to. For example, users can request ’90s pop music from artists like Madonna but exclude any boy bands.

According to Amazon’s announcement, customers can explore various music genres, discover artist influences and discographies, trace sample origins from their favorite tracks, and even inquire about the meaning behind a particular song. The AI assistant, Alexa Plus, is designed to connect the dots seamlessly to deliver a personalized music experience, even when the user’s requests are not specific.
