Porsche 918 Spyder Sets Auction Record with $6 Million Sale
Porsche 918 Spyder Sets New Auction Record at $6.05 Million
A recent auction saw a Porsche 918 Spyder fetching a staggering $6.05 million, setting a new record in the process. This sale price surpasses the previous record of $3.93 million for a 918 Spyder.
The vehicle was put up for auction by Mecum Auctions at their annual Kissimmee event. The exceptional sale price can be attributed to the remarkably low mileage of just 845 miles, making it one of the lowest-mileage 918 Spyders in existence.
This particular 918 Spyder stands out due to its unique specifications. It is the only one finished in Paint-to-Sample Pure Orange, featuring an exposed carbon fiber roof and carbon A- and B-pillars. Additionally, it is equipped with the Weissach package, which includes an aero kit also finished in exposed carbon.
The Porsche 918 Spyder is powered by a 4.6-liter V8 engine combined with two electric motors, boasting a total output of 875 hp and 944 lb-ft of torque. This setup allows the all-wheel-drive hypercar to accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 2.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 214 mph.

Despite being the most affordable option among the ‘Holy Trinity’ of hypercars a decade ago, the value of the Porsche 918 Spyder has significantly appreciated over time. Collectors are increasingly recognizing the appeal of these vehicles, evident in their rising market value.
