Alfa Romeo getting more fresh models, but timing still unconfirmed for next Giulia and Stelvio

Stellantis Commits to Investing in Alfa Romeo Brand

Stellantis has taken a unique approach by releasing a press statement confirming its commitment to investing in the Alfa Romeo brand. This decision comes after the company announced that Alfa Romeo would not be one of its four primary global brands.

The company had previously shared its product strategy at an Investor Day event, where CEO Antonio Filosa categorized Alfa Romeo as a ‘regional’ brand, alongside Chrysler, Citroen, Dodge, and Opel. These brands are expected to utilize resources from Stellantis’ core brands to create a unique offering for their respective customers.

Stellantis’ core global brands – Fiat, Jeep, Peugeot, and Ram – will serve as the primary launch platforms for all new global assets from the automaker.

On a different level, DS and Lancia will function as specialty brands managed by Citroen and Fiat, respectively.

During the Investor Day presentation, Alfa Romeo teased two upcoming models: a C-SUV (mid-size SUV) and a ‘New Bottega Fuoriserie Project,’ hinting at a bespoke low-volume vehicle.

Stellantis has now revealed more details about its product plans, focusing on more affordable and mainstream segments.

The Junior, launched in 2024, will continue to lead the Alfa Romeo lineup and receive updates during its lifecycle. A new C-segment hatchback based on the STLA One ‘multi-energy’ architecture is set to join the brand’s range post-2027.

Additionally, a new ‘C-SUV’ based on the ‘STLA M’ platform is in the works, featuring various powertrain options.

Stellantis emphasized the new STLA One architecture during its Investor Day, highlighting cost efficiencies and common interfaces. The specifics of the STLA M-based Alfa Romeo model compared to existing models remain unclear.

The Tonale small SUV will hold a significant position in the Alfa Romeo lineup, while the brand plans to collaborate with the Bottega Fuoriserie team on an exclusive project inspired by the success of the 33 Stradale.

Alfa Romeo aims to compete in the D segment with updated versions of the Giulia and Stelvio models, incorporating hybrid and electric powertrains. More details on these developments will be shared later.

While some models have been delayed, Alfa Romeo remains committed to its performance-driven DNA and unique brand positioning within the Stellantis portfolio.

Ultimately, Stellantis’ reassurance regarding the Alfa Romeo brand reflects its ongoing efforts to clarify and solidify its brand strategies, ensuring the continued relevance and success of its diverse portfolio.
