Bared Bums and Voiced Protagonists: The Cancelled Star Wars Remake Leak

Cancelled Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake's voiced protagonist and naked robo-person bums bared in this reportedly leaked cinematic

I’m losing you, naked blue placeholder person with a tiny red blaster and tiny bare bottom standing on my arm!

As a purple-faced placeholder robo-person, I find myself being sucked out of an airlock along with my red-faced partner, both of us facing the perilous void of space with our bare bottoms exposed. This scenario seems straight out of an early cinematic from the first iteration of the Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic remake, which has been in development limbo for quite some time.

Unveiling of Early Cinematic Footage

A recent discovery by MP1st revealed footage of the cinematic from the portfolio of an anonymous animator who previously worked at Aspyr, the original developers of the KOTOR remake before Saber Interactive took over.

Voiced Protagonist and Development Challenges

While the early cinematic showcases amusing bare bums and floaty character movements, the standout feature is the inclusion of a voiced protagonist. However, the lines for the characters Carth Onasi and Trask Ulgo are delivered by the same actor, indicating that this may not be the final voice casting.

In 2022, Bloomberg blogger Jason Schreier reported a pause in Aspyr’s development of the remake, along with the dismissal of key personnel following a poorly received internal demo. Subsequently, Saber Interactive took over the project, with reassurances from company executives that the remake was still in progress.

Reports in December 2025 indicated that Mad Head Games had taken the lead in the remake’s development. Despite the uncertainties surrounding its release, there remains hope that the project will eventually see the light of day.

A Unique Hidden Extra

If the KOTOR remake eventually launches, fans can only hope for a humorous nod to the early placeholder characters, perhaps in the form of a hidden menu featuring a collection of bare robo-person bums as a quirky extra feature.
