The latest iOS 27 update includes a delightful birthday-themed surprise in the Phone app, featuring a new animation that greets users when making a call on their special day.

For avid Apple Watch wearers, it’s a familiar sight to receive a “Happy Birthday!” notification with fireworks at midnight each year. Now, with iOS 27, users will also see a similar celebratory animation in the form of a banner when contacting a saved birthday contact from the Contacts app.

Interestingly, the Apple Watch Smart Stack feature in watchOS 27 now offers “birthday reminders for a close contact,” emphasizing birthdays as a recurring theme in Apple’s system updates for 2027.
