The Exciting Arrival of Abyssus on Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X|S

Prepare to dive into the immersive world of the ‘brinepunk’ roguelike shooter, Abyssus, as it makes its debut on Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 25th June. This highly anticipated release will feature full crossplay functionality, allowing players on different platforms to join forces and explore the depths of this unique underwater civilization.

Abyssus offers a fresh take on the co-op roguelite FPS genre, inviting up to four players to embark on a thrilling adventure through a submerged world plagued by ruin and corruption. The game’s distinctive brinepunk aesthetic sets it apart, with players donning old-fashioned deep sea diving gear as they navigate through mysterious caverns and dilapidated ruins.

With the upcoming content update 1.3, Abyssus is set to expand even further. Players can look forward to exploring a new Submarine area, complete with rusty metal gantries and eerie submarine-themed elements. The update introduces The Sunken, formidable foes who were once explorers like you, but have succumbed to the corruption. Additionally, players will face off against the new boss, Captain Gwaelod, and encounter the Elite Engine as a new Elite enemy. A new God, known simply as Brine, will bring fresh blessings to enhance player builds.

Developer DoubleMoose is committed to enhancing the gameplay experience with additional room objectives, gameplay improvements, and matchmaking enhancements. Players can also expect new premium cosmetic DLC in the form of the Brinerot Pack, allowing them to customize their characters with unique and stylish options.

While Abyssus received praise for its brinepunk style and engaging gameplay, some players found the difficulty level to be challenging, especially in co-op mode. However, the developers are continuously working to address these concerns and improve the overall player experience.
